ATILLIO PAGLI
Attilio is one of the world's most renowned consulting oenologists, working throughout Italy and South America. He is listed in Decanter magazine's list of the world's best winemakers.
As charming as the wines he creates, Atillio has a refreshing perspective on his work and a clear and consistent philosophy that has led him to create some of the world's famous 100-point wines.
"I'm not a celebrity, I'm just someone who works in agriculture like everyone else, but I was lucky enough to have eyes, noses, and palates that can recognize a great wine."
The most important thing is the vineyard: it provides the vision and continuity. And that's why understanding and respect for the terroir is the most important quality for anyone who wants to do this work. The wine must be a testament to its origins and its connection to its terroir, which is the sum of the climate, soil, people, and culture of a particular area.
Grapes have unique personalities, and each one must be interpreted differently. My job is to destroy as little as possible of the raw materials nature provides me and to bring as much of the fruit's potential into the bottle as possible.
It's equally important to pay attention to the details, because every year it's the little things that make the difference between a good wine and a great one."

ALEX BURGE
Alex Burge is the Managing Director of Tenuta Cappellina and the man with the vision to transform Tenuta Cappellina into a sustainable, organic and award-winning winery. Alex is bilingual, speaking perfect Italian and English, which is not surprising considering he comes from English and Dutch parents who raised him in Sicily before returning to the UK to study at Cambridge.
His professional career then took him to Bordeaux, where he spent several years as a négociant in the wine industry, working with many of the leading wine brands, before returning to his native Italy to manage the sales and marketing departments in a number of well-known wineries.
Such a passion for wine ultimately leads to wanting to feel the grapes between your fingers and the opportunity to lead a new project was too irresistible for Alex, who has dedicated his life to the development of Tenuta Cappellina and its wines for the past ten years.
